Spring / Summer Trends 2014 – Part 2

In my last blog post I started to dream of downing the jumpers as we moved into spring. In case you missed it click here.  But since then spring has well and truly sprung as have the daffodils and tulips. So here’s my look at the remaining key trends for this spring / summer:

Sheer and Sexy

think sheer or lace panels on arms / shoulders. There are even midriff tops if you feel brave enough!

Navy

this really is a key colour which is wonderful news. It looks expensive, is less harsh than black and is timeless especially when worn with white. Next in particular has lots of navy in. I love this Next bodycon dress which can be dressed up or down. And with the side panelling it will create a slimming effect.

Pink remains big

pink was THE colour of autumn / winter and remains a key colour for this spring / summer. Whether it is baby, fuchsia or coral, pink can be worn alone or as part of a pattern – think floral.

Trousers have gone wide

the palazzo trouser is perfect for spring / summer whether you go for a plain colour or a statement pattern. Monsoon has a good selection.

But remember it’s about wearing what suits your style and body shape. Don’t obsess with the trends, instead incorporate key pieces into your existing wardrobe. This can include accessories so if you don’t have the budget for a new outfit, update an existing one with statement jewellery, a handbag or scarf in a key colour.
