Spring / Summer 2013 Trends
Having read the magazines and watched the fashion shows, at last the stores gear up to bring us their spring summer offerings. There is quite a lot in store that I’m loving right now. With some trends standing out for more than others, these include:
Monochrome (that’s black and white to you and me), is everywhere in particular monochrome in wide stripes, and polka dots. With the weather far from spring like at the moment, this is a perfect way to ease out of that winter wardrobe. Why not go for a jumper like this one from Oasis which is only £15 in the mid-season sale. Polka dot shirt Miss Selfridge £32. Dress £40 Wallis – perfect for a pear shape (narrow shoulders, weight on thighs).
Oasis £15 Miss Selfridge £32 Wallis £40
Prints are everywhere ranging from floral shirts, which should be worn buttoned up to the top, to oriental style prints, and printed trousers. No matter what your size or body shape, they will be a pattern and style that works for you – it is my job as a style advisor to advise you which and where to buy from.

If you have a limited budget, the easiest way to incorporate a trend into your wardrobe is via accessories. Think scarves, tights, jewellery. But remember what Yves Saint Laurent said “Fashions fade, style is eternal”, so think less about being on trend and more about what style you want to portray.
